Riders on the Storm: Kenny Germe’s captivating display of photographic artistry

Men (and women) have been roaming the earth for millions of years. About five to seven million years to be somewhat precise. And animals have walked beside mankind for just as long. It is precisely this extraordinary bond between an animal and his human that photographer Kenny Germé sought to capture through his lens in his fashion editorial ‘Riders On The Storm’.

‘Riders On The Storm’ follows the Cowboys of Ghana from Laboma Beach all the way to the interior of Accra. The subjects of the photographs are all ranchers and jockeys who have developed a cherished bond with their animals. In his work, Germé explores this connection and how these relationships can be formed and thrive in any environment.

There’s a sense of grounded fantasy encompassed by every framed instance. The styling completes the concept, acting as the glue that holds all the elements together – from inspiration to ideation, to concept, to intention.
