‘Seres’ is the new Barcelona-based project that defends human beings regardless of their physical, ethnic, sexual, or religious orientation. Ana Prado and Lucas Rosa are in charge of this new journey which champions unity and inclusivity.
Over the years, the LGBTQI + community has been gathering strength and accumulating artistic achievements in Spain. Currently, there are many queer artists, from photographers, activists, writers, stylists, directors … people with great creative potential who try to show and give voice to their identity and collective. “Seres” was created by themselves, the LGBTQI + artist collective, intending to join forces to create a safe space for all those artists who wish to display their art comfortably.
The group took its first step on stage with a photography session and an audiovisual piece of work directed by Ana Prado and Lucas Rosa. A representation of the family bond between a group of people of different ages, genders, and ethnicities, but with something in common, the passion for art and creation. Together they create an emotional and poetic image that undoubtedly gives the audience a very personal sense of peace and love.
“SERES empowers and gives visibility to people who use art as a tool of expression, influenced by queer, anti-racist, and feminist movements. We defend the inclusion of all beings regardless of their nationality, social class, sexuality, and gender identity. SERES shows the contradictions and conflicts of being by the simple fact of existing through the diversity of stories to generate more awareness about the beauty of our difference ”.
In the images, we can clearly perceive the artists’ intention and a great reference to spirituality and love for mother earth and her creations. A kind of divine ritual takes place in the images, where life and beauty regardless of their shape or form are celebrated.
