From the beginning of time until now belief systems have risen and fallen, some transformed, some died off, some survived. But there is one idea that has remained untouched: the notion that everything begins at the sun in our galaxy. The sun is the universal father, the bringer of light, and therefore that of life and consequently food and all things sustenance. It has been revered, celebrated, and venerated civilization and civilization, across all sorts of religions, communities, and cultures, making it a unifying symbol.
And now, the sun is going digital. But before we go any further, let us introduce you to our latest partner in crime, TRIWA.
TRIWA is an acronym for Transforming the Industry of Watches, so that should give you a pretty good idea of the type of company that they are. Since its inception in 2007, TRIWA has dedicated its efforts to deconstructing the commonly held association between watches and status. They design watches that transcend style, creating modern statement symbols rather than traditional status symbols. How could we not be enticed to work with a brand that’s all about innovation and challenging norms?
Now, back to the sun.
We proudly present The Next Cartel’s collaboration with TRIWA Digital Watch: Celebration of the Sun, an NFT collection that radiates energy, healing, life, strength, spiritual power, and rebirth.
The Next Cartel x TRIWA is an extension of TRIWA’s Time for Solar launch.
When? March 9th, that’s when we are officially kicking off this incredibly thrilling venture.
Where? The Time for Solar Watch will be presented in a digital pop up store at https://thenextcartel.com/nft-store. But it’s not any old pop-up store, it’s a full-on immersive virtual experience. Such a spiritual happening had to take place in an equally spiritual location. As such, the pop-up store is actually a temple. The construction of the temple alone is breathtaking, sharp geometrical shapes that bring together the wisdom of the past into the contemporary day and age.
Located in the desert in Egypt, the temple stands 40 meters tall, twice the height of the Louvre for reference, and is surrounded by ancient ruins.
THE MONUMENTALITY OF THE BUILDING IS TO EMPHASIZE THAT THE NEXT CARTEL IS HERE TO MAKE A STATEMENT OF RECOGNITION OF THE SUN.

What? The Time for Solar NFT will also include a broader collection made up of four full NFT outfits. These NFT designs will consist of virtual clothes inspired by ancient sun-worshipping civilizations. Modern digital interpretations of past eras. Bringing the past and the future together, to create a ground-breaking present.
On top of that, we will present two exclusive sunglasses designs.
THE CLOCKWORK OF THE WATCH IS INSPIRED BY AN ANCIENT SOLAR TECHNIQUE TO TELL THE TIME, WHERE A SHADOW IS FORMED BY A BLADE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CLOCKWORK, SHOWING THE TIME BASED ON THE POSITION OF THE SUN.

The sound design plays a key role in bringing the experience together as a whole and bridges the gap between the digital and physical, transporting us into the ethereal beauty that is the temple. The soundtrack was created specifically for this project by Swedish artist ÄR.
I WAS INSPIRED BY THE ANCIENT SOUNDS AND RHYTHMS OF EGYPT FOR THE CREATION OF THIS PIECE. THERE IS SO MUCH MYSTERY SURROUNDING THE SUN AND ITS LIFE-GIVING AND FOR US – ETERNAL – NATURE, A SENSE OF HOLINESS THAT I WANTED TO PORTRAY, AND WE CAN ONLY LIVE IN GRATITUDE AND AW FOR WHAT SHE OFFERS US. THE NAME ÄR EVEN STEMS FROM THE SUN, AR WAS ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL NAME OF THE SUN GOD STEMMING 45-50 K YEARS AGO IN ARMENIA, SO IT WAS A PLEASURE TO EMBARK ON THIS PROJECT AND LET MY NEW PROJECT SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY.

The NFT Collection Celebration of The Sun is mindful of the Earth
The NFTs will be available on Flow Blockchain. This might ring a bell since it is something we have gladly talked about before. There’s a reason we released our past NFT collection on Flow too, it uses proof-of-stake rather than proof-of-work to secure transactions, thus tackling the highly problematic issue of astronomical energy consumption of other blockchains, such as Ethereum.
